Jalen Brunson tells Josh Hart to lose his number after Hart’s bizarre tweet

Every day I’m reminded that professional athletes are human just like the rest of us. However, with some of the things we see these guys do, it’s easy to view them in a greater light than the average Joe. On Tuesday, Josh Hart accomplished that task and did so in a way I, frankly, wasn’t expecting.

Hart’s comment is certainly a wild thing to post on a weeknight, but I’ve seen a lot worse on Twitter — even from other NBA players. Still, it’s clear that not everybody shares Hart’s desire, including his teammate and close friend Jalen Brunson, who had this to say in response.

But Brunson wasn’t the only person who had a reaction to this bizarre tweet. Stephen A. Smith got in on the action while claiming he needed more time to process what he read.

Much like Brunson and Smith, the reaction from social media has been a rather shocking one. I mean, it’s not every day an NBA player tweets something like this.

What is worth noting, though, is something Trey pointed out. While it may sound crazy in the public sphere, it’s something a large majority of us have thought about at least once in our life. I’m not saying we’re all walking around thinking about breast milk and how to acquire it, but more so that it’s merely an idea that has crossed the minds of many at some point.

Hart recently became a father, so maybe that has opened up a part of the brain that only being a father can. I would be willing to bet that it has crossed the mind of even Brunson himself — although I’m not sure he would ever admit to it like Hart did.

Now, obviously, Brunson isn’t ending his friendship with Hart. The two go all the way back to their days at Villanova and are clearly close to one another. If anything, Brunson’s response indicates just that as it seems very in line with the response a good friend would give to something like that.

Ultimately, Hart’s tweet sparked a rather bizarre sequence of events, but it’s not even close to the worst Twitter has to offer. However, if drinking breast milk is what Josh Hart needs to do to succeed, then by all means, he should continue. It would definitely be a weird method but hey, whatever works works, right?
