Jake Paul Offers Draymond Green $10 Million to Box on his PPV

If you have been on social media today you have seen the video of Draymond Green punching Jordan Poole at a Golden State Warriors practice. You can thank (or complain to) TMZ Sports for releasing that footage. Jake Paul is certainly glad that the footage was leaked as he is now attempting to get Green to box on a Most Valuable Promotions pay-per-view card. He even offered Green $10 million for a potential fight.

Jake Paul made his $10 million offer on Twitter as he released a string of tweets in response to the altercation.

Paul left us a lot to unpack here: Green boxing, a $10 million offer, a fight with Deron Williams, and even a fight with Paul himself.

Let’s be honest here, we can’t really tell if Green can box. Yea he landed a solid punch on Poole, but there are weight classes for a reason. Green is 6’6″ and 230 pounds while Poole is 6’4″ and 195 pounds. That is the definition of a mismatch. Plus, Poole was clearly not expecting Green to hit him with a haymaker during practice. It is much easier to hit a standing opponent than a moving target. Not to get too technical here, but Green is also fairly off-balance when he throws this punch. A good boxer smokes him with a counterpunch.

Now, as far as money goes, $10 million is $10 million. Green may be signed to a massive contract, but I bet he would be interested in making a quick $10 million. That much money will at least get his attention. I am not saying Green will accept the offer. I am saying he will at least think about it, even if just for a second.

Picking an opponent for Green is where things get interesting. Yes, this is all hypothetical. With that being said, it is fun. First things first, we do not need to see Green box Williams. Once again, there are weight classes for a reason. Secondly, we do not need to see Green box Paul. Paul is fighting former UFC champion Anderson Silva later this month. He has graduated from fighting NBA players. So, who would be the ideal opponent for Green’s boxing debut? Easy, Kendrick Perkins. This is basic matchmaking. These two already have beef. In the past, Perkins even said he wanted to box Green. Perfect, we have a match. The only issue here is that Perkins is slightly bigger, however, Green is younger and still in playing shape. Those two factors balance out. We have a fair fight.

To be real, Green will not find himself in a boxing ring anytime soon. I am not a contract expert, but I imagine there is a clause in Green’s contract that prohibits him from accepting a boxing match. Regardless, Paul did a great job of getting people all riled up for no reason. That is possibly his best skill.
