Jake Briningstool 2025 NFL Draft Profile

Jake Briningstool goes through the 2025 NFL Draft profile next. We’re going to have a chat about everything and anything you need to know about the Clemson tight end, so I’m just going to jump right into things now.

NFL Draft Stock Report: Senior Bowl (1), (2)

Briningstool, 22, was a four star prospect coming out of high school and the number three tight end prospect in the country. Some guy named Brock Bowers was ranked ahead of him. Maybe you heard of that dude before. Briningstool was actually the number ranked player in the entire state of Tennessee coming out.

The former Clemson product checks in at 6-foot-6, 241, and posted okay numbers this past year for the Tigers. He spent all four years at Clemson and was mostly a reserve for the first two. The final two, Briningstool was named Third-team All-ACC. He’s also the number one reception leader for a tight end in program history. To close things out, Briningstool racked up 49 receptions for 530 yards and seven scores.

All of that is fine and well, but I have no idea what you actually do with this player. The Davis Allen PTSD vibes are real. I didn’t like Allen coming out, and the same applies here. He’s basically a receiver who isn’t fast or talented. I thought he was awful at the Combine. A 4.75 while being a zero in the blocking game just isn’t going to work.

Doesn’t pass the smell test in the knee bend stuff. Not a smooth hands catcher and uses his body to secure throws a lot of times. Outside of being tall for red area looks, I have no idea what he brings to the table.

I have an undrafted grade on Jake Briningstool. Frankly, I don’t really see the point here at all. Haven’t we seen this waste of time Clemson tight end, enough times already? What has Davis Allen done? How about Jordan Leggett? How about Michael Palmer? They’re all duds, and Briningstool doesn’t feel any different. Outside of being tall, I have no idea what he’s good at. Hard pass and no preseason invite here either.
