I can’t stand Isaiah Bond and I’m having a hard time understanding why anyone is taking this thing seriously. If you came for positivity on this profile, feel free to exit now and thank you for the click. It’s going to be an avalanche of hate coming your way on this one. Let’s get right into the 2025 NFL Draft profile on the Texas receiver.
NFL Draft Stock Report: Week 2, Week 8, Week 12, Conference Championships, College Football Playoff First Round, Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl, Cotton Bowl, National Championship
Bond, 21, was a four star athlete hailing from the state of Georgia coming out of high school. Bond declares for the draft at a young age after just three years in college. Spent two years at Alabama and finished up his final season with Texas.
Explain this to me. How can anyone argue for drafting a receiver high in the draft who has ONE 100-yard game in his entire career? There really isn’t a ton of production here. Had some splash plays as a freshman. Eventually started to work his way into the rotation at Alabama notching 48 receptions for 668 yards and four scores as a sophomore. Then transfers to the Longhorns after Xavier Worthy and AD Mitchell leave for the NFL. This past year in a full time role, Bond reeled in 34 receptions for 540 yards and five scores.
There is no question Matthew Golden leap-frogged him by the end of the season. No reason to even keep beating around the bush. If you read the stock notes, you know this is a player I despise and honestly I don’t see a real path to being a force at the NFL level. I thought he was terrible at the Combine and was listed as a one of the biggest losers for a lot of reasons. You can see that here but delusion has something to do with it.
Bond checks in at 5-foot-10, 180, and really has nothing to his game beyond being fast. Not blazing fast but mostly fast. Didn’t do any of the other testing at the Combine. Did the on-field portion but his route running is trash. I saw plenty of issues getting off the line against corners who have strength. Honestly, the number one thing that bothers me about this player is the fact that he does this jumping bs cheese that doesn’t even make sense. The jump drop cheese is some of the grossest footage you will find on any player out there. Drops are a huge issue of his beyond the fact that he doesn’t resemble a real receiver in any way.
I don’t know what else there is to say. Feels like a rich man’s version of Arian Smith (who we did the profile on). If that gets you excited, knock yourself out.
Isaiah Bond shouldn’t get drafted and I question your intelligence if you actually believe this is a first or second round player. I don’t want any part of this player. You can have him. I’ll be leaving him in the trash where he belongs. Frankly, I’m not sure how anyone watched Texas down the stretch and wants in on his stock. My guess is the people that like him didn’t actually watch the games.
