Can the Justin Fields-DJ Moore duo be elite?

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields has shown signs of becoming an elite quarterback, now add an elite receiver like D.J. Moore to his weapon room. It could be game over. But is this duo really going to be as elite as we say it is? Read more to find out.

Last season, Fields had a mass improvement in his overall game, but passing is still an issue for the young QB. It could be the lack of weapons or his offensive system, but Fields was a great passer at Ohio State. Now, he is struggling with the Bears in the passing game. Fields threw for 2,242 yards at a 60.4 percent clip. The former Ohio State QB threw for 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions on the year. But the question today is, can Fields and Moore become an elite duo? The short answer is yes.

DJ Moore has been recognized as one of the most underrated receivers in the NFL. Playing in Carolina for five seasons, Moore has found a lot of success with the Panthers. Moore has posted 5,201 receiving yards in five seasons with the Panthers, hauling in 21 receiving touchdowns with the likes of Sam Darnold, Cam Newton, Kyle Allen, Teddy Bridgewater, P.J. Walker and Baker Mayfield behind center, among others.

With Fields at QB, the newly partnered duo is looking to stuff the stat sheet. Chicago Bears defensive tackle Justin Jones spoke Monday on the connection between Fields and Moore.

“One and two,” defensive tackle Justin Jones said Monday when asked how the offense looks different. “Justin Fields and DJ Moore, yeah, that’s different. That’s really different. There’s been some really nice passes, some really nice balls that drop right into his hands. … But yeah, there’s been some really nice passes that DJ caught that make you scratch your head and be like, ‘I don’t know how you even got that through there or how you made that catch.’ But they have a really, really good connection. I think that’s really going to be scary this season coming up.”

If Fields can take that next step in his passing game with the Bears, he and Moore can be a very special duo.

Will Fields take that next step in his passing game next year with Moore? Can they be an elite fantasy duo? Let us know in the comments down below.
