Is Call Her Daddy Leaving Barstool Sports?

Call Her Daddy is a gigantic podcast that has been part of the Barstool Sports podcast network for a few years but is Alex Cooper taking the show and leaving?

On the latest episode of The Dave Portnoy Show with Eddie and Co. and the host Eddie asked the Chief of Content at Barstool Sports what the meaning was behind the title of the newest episode of Call Her Daddy which was called the “Season Finale”.

“It’s up in the air on what’s happening with [Alex Cooper’s] contract, but there is no animosity either way” – Dave Portnoy

“Do you believe she will be back?” – Eddie

“No I don’t. Now I don’t. We might still work with them in some fashion, but the price got to expensive for us.” – Dave Portnoy

The insanely popular podcast that Alex Cooper and Sofia Franklin brought into the space change the game forever. Franklin left Barstool and the show after she and her boyfriend tried to pull a fast one sell their show that was already under contract to another media company.

Cooper has since moved to California from New York City and has elevated her game. She built a podcast studio in her backyard, and has continued to stay in the headlines when guests come on her show.

It was more a matter of when not if Cooper took her podcast and talents elsewhere from Barstool, but Call Her Daddy is going elsewhere and that is a loss for Portnoy and the company.

They got greedy and Portnoy even offered to give them the show’s IP if they could figure out their issues and record a few more episodes to get through the pandemic. Franklin never returned, so Alex Cooper took the show and became a “Solo Father” and ran with it.
