I’m Confused… Is Max Melton Fast Or Slow?

Hi.

Trey again.

The Senior Bowl is this week.

My notes are right here for the National Team Today. If you want to read it that would be great. I thank you for your support.

You already know what I’m going to say. I assume that’s why you’re here…

It’s just really hard for me to respect these other NFL Draft writers. Mostly because I think they make things. The NFL Draft has become Mean Girls on Crack. The narrative wins and when the politics enter the discussion teams do really stupid things. The same stupid things over and over again.

What exactly makes Terry Fontenot qualified to interview Bill Belichick? The fact that he took three skill position players in a row inside the top ten. The list includes a tight end that can block (a player I like but the wrong pick for them), a running back (insert puke emoji here), and Drake London who stinks.

Congratulations. Guarding your desk is more important than winning. The worst part is the media is somehow worse. It’s a bunch of insecure people taking the media out to a glory hole session for information that changes based on the person you’re talking to every 15 minutes.

Okay, I’m going to get to the point now. I’m not going to give myself a compliment on this stuff. I’m just going to let the Draft Busters people do it for me.

Keep in mind I’m also doing this from the couch because Jim Nagy hates me. I don’t get access to the entire tape. Imagine if I did. Instead, I tell you what I see in American Idol style. The results speak for themselves. Imagine if I had access to all the information.

Let’s talk about the target today; his name is Eric Edholm. He works for NFL.com. That should be the cream of the crop place to go for the draft. Okay, if not cream of the top it should at least be high quality. This is his article from today.

I just have a problem with it. I have a problem with it because it stinks. It’s not all terrible but most of this is a mountain of lies stacked on top of each other.

This is Edholm’s description of Max Melton.

4) CB to watch.

“If there’s a cornerback who deserves a bit more attention through two days of Senior Bowl practices, it might be Rutgers’ Max Melton.”

Mad Max” has been all over the practice fields Tuesday and Wednesday, registering one of the top foot speeds, as recorded by Zebra Technologies, at 20.96 mph. Melton played inside and out for the Scarlet Knights and has done the same here in Mobile. He’s the brother of Packers WR Bo Melton, who came on strong for Green Bay in 2023.”

“Melton has given up some receptions this week, but his competitiveness has stood out. One of the biggest plays from the National Team practice Wednesday morning was Melton ripping out a fumble from USC’s MarShawn Lloyd near the sideline — and recovering it inbounds.”

“Melton might lack elite recovery speed, but his length (he’s 5-foot-11, with 32-inch arms) will make him appealing as a versatile CB prospect. I haven’t seen his name mentioned as much as others this week, but Melton has helped his draft cause.”

We’re both thinking the same thing, right?

So what you’re telling me is the guy who registered one of the fastest sprint speed times on the Zebra tech doesn’t have recovery speed? Does that make a lick of sense?

You people continue to throw a pity party for people because this industry is dying. Did you learn anything from reading his post? Did it make you laugh or chuckle? Do you trust the evaluator giving you the information in the article?

This is why Sports Illustrated and the rest of you are dying. You’re boring and corrupt.

This is NFL.com. The leading source of saying the most Switzerland answer possibly so we just ride then narrative.

Got it.

Side note: I don’t have anything on Melton in my notes. It’s kinda hard to see the linebackers and safeties from the couch. Just don’t see a ton of footage. If I see something on him in the coming days I’ll make sure to report back on my thoughts. Unlike a lot of these NFL Draft writers, I don’t just makeup something I didn’t see just to act like I want to fit in.

So which one is it? Is Max Melton fast or slow? TComment below.

Nice chat. See you tomorrow.
