I Hope The Patriots Aren’t Actually Counting On Jarrett Stidham

I don’t have a clue whether Tom Brady stays or goes. Nor should you. Brady is washed up and can’t play anymore. The only thing that is important is that you should hammer the under for the team he signs with if he leaves the Patriots. New England will probably be fine… unless they actually think Jarrett Stidham has a real future. Then, they’re pretty much screwed.

Jarrett Stidham can’t play. Not even a little. Tom Brady might be old and washed up but Stidham never had the talent, to begin with. That’s definitely a worse alternative. Nothing Stidham did at Auburn would suggest he was even a draftable quarterback prospect. His final year at Auburn, he barely completed 60 percent with 18 touchdowns and 5 picks. Auburn couldn’t’ move the ball when he was their quarterback. Watching Stidham in college was like watching someone who is lost inside a mall trying to find their way back to the exit. There was nothing pretty about it.

Stidham did have some spot duty coming into the Jets game that was a big blow out. Very small sample size, but it encapsulates the point. The man can’t play a lick. Stidham finished his 2019 season with 50 percent completion (2-4) and an 18.7 quarterback rating. He somehow managed to throw an interception playing in garbage time with a huge lead against the Jets. It takes a real kind of terrible to do that.

I don’t know what happened to Bill Belichick. The last 5 years, the man has forgotten how to draft. He’s the greatest coach ever but this Patriots team isn’t talented. If he thinks Jarrett Stidham can win him games in 2020, he’s got a wicked reality coming. If Stidham is the Patriots starting quarterback in 2020, they won’t win the division. Take that to the bank.
