Hue Jackson wants to get back into coaching. I don’t think any NFL team will touch him after he went 3-36 during his tenure in Cleveland. Nevertheless, Jackson wants back in and claims that nobody should hold his record against him. Jackson is statistically the worst coach ever but don’t judge him for that.
“My coaching record over 32 years speaks for itself,” Jackson said, via Joe Reedy of the Associated Press. “I don’t think 2½ years at Cleveland should tarnish my whole career but at the same time people have to know that you are out there and are willing and able to work.”
“That’s where the itch comes from. You miss the smell of the grass, the players, the camaraderie and all the process you went through,” he said. “When you look back there are a ton of things I would do different. For one I would have never gave up play-calling.”
In fairness, Hue Jackson did go 8-8 with the Raiders before heading to Cleveland. Still, any NFL team would be crazy to hire him. We get that the Browns are the Browns but 3-36? C’Mon now… You’re done, Hue.
What Hue should do is try to take a college job. See what he can do with Bowling Green. Urban Meyer won there. If he can turn around a school like that, then maybe someone gives him another chance. Jackson shouldn’t feel too entitled to take a job like that and I bet he could get that kind of job.
I’m sure Hue is a nice guy but he’s insane if he thinks another NFL team is hiring him to be a head coach right away. Go to college and prove yourself. I didn’t even charge him a therapy session for that perfect advice.
