An Honest Crumbl Review
Crumbl Cookies swept the nation last year when they brought an innovative take to the cookie world. The joint sparked interest in customers when they introduced the idea of rotating cookie flavors per week. Each week, Crumbl discards old flavors and replaces them with updated and trendy ones. These flavors are fruity, chocolatey, nutty, and more. It’s an adventurous way to approach cookies, and Crumbl will always leave customers excited for the new flavors to come each week. A trend on Tik Tok formed when people would review each cookie of the week and rate them out of 10. People hopped on the trend to share their own favorites, as everyone was excited to participate and share their own opinions.
As I watched these Tik Toks, I always wondered how the cookies would taste. Since cookies are my favorite dessert, I was excited for my take on the trend. I bought my own box of 6 cookies to share on the internet. I went to their new opening on the Upper East Side. I headed over there and waited in a 45-minute line. I was antsy but excited, and I filled my time watching people’s reviews. I ordered the 6 cookies of the week and happily took them home. But my excitement quickly ended when it was time to finally try them.
My Experience
I ordered the cornbread honey cake, blue monster, almond chocolate fudge, the classic chocolate chip, and a few others. I was most excited about the chocolate chip but was immediately disappointed. The semi-sweet chocolate had no chocolate flavor. The dough itself was very sweet but at the same time also had no depth of flavor. My taste buds were confused. Each bite ended up tasting more plastic-y than the last. It felt like someone took chocolate chip play dough and baked it in an oven. Disappointed, I tried the other flavors as well. None of them were particularly notable.
Overall, Crumbl is a fun place to try something new, and try new flavors. To warn the cookie lovers out there, however, I would say not to get your hopes up on this cookie being life-changing. It was a fun experience but a rather average cookie. I would give it a 3/10.
