Grey Zabel might be a small school offensive lineman, but that doesn’t mean this dude doesn’t have talent. The North Dakota State product is being hyped up for a good reason. Let’s get into it and not waste any more time. Here is your 2025 NFL Draft profile on Zabel!
NFL Draft Stock Report: Senior Bowl (1), (2), (3), Game
Zabel, 22, was a zero star recruit coming out of high school. It’s hard to know exactly where this guy came from. It’s mostly a positive development story as he didn’t even start during the first two years with NDST. 2023 he played some guard and right tackle. 2024 he shifted out and became the full time starter at left tackle.
Feel free to read the Stock notes. No, it doesn’t include anything from his regular season but the Senior Bowl performance was damn impressive. A small school guy who more than belongs. The most impressive trait he showed at the Senior Bowl was his anchor ability. Once he locked on, that anchor set it and nobody could move him an inch. He’s on the radar for a reason.
That was followed up by a quality performance at the Combine. He didn’t run but posted a crazy vertical and passed the eye test during the on-field portion of the drills. Zabel also checks in at 6-foot-6, 312 while playing four out of the five positions along the offensive line in college. By the way, the one he didn’t play (center) is the one he got looks at during the Senior Bowl and may be best suited for at the NFL level.
Looks like he has good technique. Not twitchy, but some explosion and can move laterally at a high level. Just a really good football player that proved it plenty during this process.
I like Grey Zabel. It’s hard not to, especially after the predraft process. I have no problem picking Zabel in the first round, but would probably prefer to land him somewhere in the second round range.
