Gonzaga’s Mark Few Pleads Guilty to DUI, Fined $1,000

Gonzaga head coach Mark Few has plead guilty to a September DUI and has been fined $1,000, instead of spending four days in jail, according to court documents and AP.

Few was arrested over Labor Day weekend in Idaho. He was pulled over by police officers after someone reported his car for driving erratically. He refused a field sobriety test, opting to give breath samples which later revealed a blood alcohol level of .119 and .120. The legal limit is .08.

The 58-year-old was suspended by the university for the season-opener against Dixie State on Nov. 9. In addition to the fine, the plea deal mandates that Few complete 24 hours of community service and his driver’s license will be suspended until Nov. 5, per AP. He has already completed the required drug and alcohol course.

In a statement earlier this month, Few said this regarding his DUI.

“I have had a month to reflect on the regretful decisions I made on Sept. 6. I again offer my sincere apology and I remain committed to learning from this mistake.”

Gonzaga enters as the preseason No. 1 team in the country and the favorite to win the national title. Few is expected to return for Gonzaga’s top-five battle against Chris Beard’s Texas Longhorns on Nov. 13 in Spokane.
