Go Nuggets. F*ck LeBron. Lead By Example.

Bad call. What do you want me to say? It usually happens once a year. I was pissed when the Red Sox signed JD Martinez. I even slapped myself in the face for almost being wrong about Tom Brady. When NFL Draft season hits again, I plan doing a biggest draft misses series just to expose myself. This Nuggets take was another bad brain moment by Trey.

There is also this terrible part of society where we only like to expose people when they’re wrong. I strive to be the best and if you notice, there aren’t many times where I’m actually wrong. I still haven’t gotten credit for predicting the exact order of talent for wide receivers in the 2019 NFL Draft. It’s so accurate you would piss your pants in disbelief.

I can name 1,000 things I’ve been right about that I haven’t gotten credit for. I can name about six things people have tried to expose me for. Maybe if I was dumber Fox Sports would try to hire me to be the next Skip Bayless! Is that what you want?

At the core of things, I pride myself on being a talent evaluator and natural born leader. I have full confidence that I can run a front office better than any person that exists. Keep in mind, we’re weeks removed from single handily exposing ESPN’s fantasy hockey department. I’m still wondering why I didn’t get credit for that. Do you see what I mean by this pathetic society we live in?

Furthermore, crazy things happen in sports. Show me your tickets that prove you predicted the 8 seed Miami Heat to go to the Finals? Prove that you have that betting slip. Better yet, show me the betting slip where you also predicted the 8 seed Florida Panthers to reach the Stanley Cup Finals!

You don’t have those betting slips which means you’re no better than me. Just something to keep in mind.

The signs are always the most powerful thing in sports. If you notice, we’re on the verge of the one seed in the west reaching the Finals for NBA and NHL. The same for the 8 seed in the NBA and NHL. Both south Florida teams. The signs always rule and it’s our job to try to find them. The Chinese Farmer method is always the best approach but sometimes you have to take a stand.

Nikola Jokic is proving that he’s the best player in the world. Jamal Murray is also a very capable number two option that can get hot at any time. I never denied those things. I just never thought the Nuggets were good enough around them.

I really thought the Nuggets blew it at the trade deadline. If you go read that original article, I’m not sure where I was really wrong. Did you know the Nuggets acquired a grand total of ZERO minutes at the deadline? There wasn’t a single player acquired midseason that played a minute for Denver this postseason.

Denver gave up three second round picks for Thomas Bryant. It was stupid at the time and is still stupid now. Reggie Jackson is a total cancer. DeAndre Jordan couldn’t be more washed up. All of those things are undeniable. Denver didn’t improve their team at all at the deadline. That’s just a fact.

Michael Porter Jr was also underwhelming in massive stretches of the postseason when he wasn’t hitting shots and is definitely overpaid. The rest of the cast is Aaron Gordon, KCP, Bruce Brown, Christian Braun, and Jeff Green. It’s just not a core that screams title but the pieces somehow fit. Mostly because Jokic is playing god mode right now.

It all just felt like a classic LeBron story. The Lakers got the pieces they needed at the deadline to thump the sitting ducks at the top of the standings. It couldn’t have been more wrong.

Plus… if this was such a slam dunk for the Nuggets, do we think the smart Denver fan at the site would have picked his own team to lose? The Diamond also picked the Nuggets to lose this postseason. Doubting a team that’s never made the NBA Finals was a perfectly rational take. The Joker was just special enough to overcome it and looks poised to win his title.

Clown on me all you want. That’s fine and I deserve it. However, I’d be remiss to point out the fact that Trey actually won today. I’ll take being wrong about the Nuggets over LeBron getting another ring any day of the week. It was a no-win scenario and this was the way better outcome. The OG readers of the site know I hate LeBron more than almost any player in the league that’s not Westbrook.

Here is a link to our NBA tab. Make sure you type the word LeBron and go to my author page. Go nuts. A loss for LeBron is always a win for Trey. The views on the site always go up for that reason when it happens.

Did I really lose today? I’d argue I stubbed my toe rather than getting stabbed in the heart. A trade I’ll take all the time. You and I both know the Lakers winning was the worst outcome. We wouldn’t ever hear the end of the LeBron vs. Jordan debates this offseason.

I don’t hate the Nuggets. Kenneth Faried is one of my favorite players ever. Maybe the Colorado fans deserved this after watching their Avs lose in the first round to an expansion team that’s not any good.

The Karma gods and I already had a chat. Jokes on you if you think I’m upset by this. The VGK are favorites to win the Stanley Cup and if that happens my year is made. Hockey is a superior sport anyway so I’ll happily sacrifice the Charmin ultra sport for that.

May the signs be with you. I chose incorrectly this time but it will not define me. In closing.

Hockey > basketball.
