Giannis would have been a hot target in free agency next offseason if he did not sign an extension. But, that will not be the case as he has signed a five year extension to stay in Milwaukee.
The contract extension was first reported by Shams Charania. This comes six days before the exension deadline.
The largest deal in NBA History and rightfully so, he deserves it. Giannis is a freakish athlete. Not only that but he has proven to be one of the best in the game, but has not enough talent around him to make it further than the Eastern Conference Finals. The deal includes a 15% trade kicker.
The Greek Freak is coming off the best year in his career, where he was named both the Most Valuable Player and the Defensive Player of the Year. He joined Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon. Giannis averaged career highs in points (29.5) and rebounds (13.6) to go with 5.6 assists.
Antetokounmpo is the favorite in the East to win the MVP award this season. Although, he may have some competition with Kevin Durant playing his first season in Brooklyn.
Giannis has agreed to stay in Milwaukee because he believes it is his home. He has become one of the most loyal players in the NBA.
We can all look forward to Giannis Antetokounmpo dominating the Eastern Conference once again and for another five years. He seems very ecstatic to be staying in the city of Milwaukee.
The Bucks now look to be set at making a run with Giannis and the addition of Jrue Holiday.
Could this be the year the Bucks make it to the Finals?
They definitely have a good shot to be the Number 1 seed with the additions of Torrey Craig, Jrue Holiday and Bobby Portis.
Will Giannis make it three MVP awards in a row?
