Finn Balor, the inaugural WWE Universal Champion and a workhouse in the WWE, spoke about not being involved in this year’s WrestleMania event. He wrestles in numerous matches spanning across weekly shows, premium live events, and house shows, so it was surprising to not see him on the WrestleMania 38 card.
During an interview with Cheap Heat, Balor expressed his desire to wrestle at WWE Clash at the Castle this year.
“Obviously it’s something I absolutely want to be involved in.”

Clash at the Castle takes place on Sept. 3, 2022. With only one match announced for it thus far, Balor hopes to have a place on the card. Balor also commented on not being on the WrestleMania 38 card. His last WrestleMania match in front of a live audience was WrestleMania 34. What makes it even worse is that WrestleMania is a two-night event.
“Last year, I wasn’t involved in Mania, and I’ll be honest, that deeply hurt. Deeply hurt. The fact that I show up for every TV, every house show, every overseas tour, every media appearance. Then, to be left off two nights of WrestleMania, that hurt.”

Balor also commented on the short notice he had for his SummerSlam match after being added to the card.
“I only found out about SummerSlam on Monday. There’s no real, ‘Hey, you’re going to be in this match in three months. You’re going to be in this match in six weeks.’ It’s literally, you find out the week before sometimes.”

Balor started his professional wrestling career in the United Kingdom.
“To get to go back and wrestle in a stadium would be incredible,” he said.

Balor deserves a match on the Clash at the Castle card. He has worked tirelessly over the past couple years and has been a standout star in the company. Being a part of the Judgement Day was a nice refresh to his career. The Judgement Day is currently feuding with the Mysterios and now Edge. WWE can easily book a match involving Balor at Clash at the Castle and he deserves it.
