Fantasy Football: Chiefs Add Marquise Brown

The Chiefs got Patrick Mahomes another weapon. This time it’s finally a deep threat to at least attempt to do the things that Tyreek Hill was doing. Can Marquise Brown become a fantasy football darling in Kansas City? Let’s talk about it.

Brown, 26, only has one 1,000 yard season but some of that isn’t his fault. The former Oklahoma product was in Baltimore during the early Lamar Jackson days when he was at his lowest form of accuracy. After that, it was rotting away in the desert of Arizona. The only thing that’s clear here is that Kansas City will be his best form of opportunity.

Rashee Rice led the Chiefs in fantasy points last year finishing at WR27. Can Brown become the number one with the Chiefs? Maybe he doesn’t even have to. One thing to remember is that Mahomes threw for 4,183 yards last year. That’s over 1,000 yards worse than he was the year before. Maybe adding Brown helps everyone involved? Rice, Kelce, Mahomes, etc.

Brown is an ideal play for all best ball leagues next year. You’re going to want to five games he reels in a long touchdown. You’re just never going to know when those performances are coming. Gameplan accordingly and make sure you’re covered for the eventual two for 15 performance that breaks you.

I would buy Brown in fantasy. I wouldn’t mind even bidding a little extra for him just to have the piece of the Chiefs offense. A really nice flex piece that probably will be unranked based on the failures of Skyy Moore. Except, hopefully by now you’re smart enough to realize Moore sucked and Brown is a much different caliber of player.
