Falcons Trade Julio Jones To The Tennessee Titans

Julio Jones is now free from the Atlanta Falcons. The All-Pro wide receiver is heading to the Tennessee Titans for at least a second-round pick, per Ian Rapoport.

While all the details of the trade are still being determined, Julio Jones will be going to Tennessee. According to Adam Schefter, the Falcons and Titans are still discussing compensation. It may be a second and a fifth-round pick, or it may be a second-round pick with later pick swaps. Regardless, a second-round pick will be heading to Atlanta for Julio Jones.

Julio Jones made it very obvious he wanted out of Atlanta when he got set up by Shannon Sharpe on Undisputed on FS1. Sharpe could have gotten FS1 in some deep trouble with that stunt. Now, the trade is not official, but it might as well be. The teams are still determining the final compensation, and Julio Jones will need to pass a physical, but the Titans are the destination. This trade gives the Falcons some draft capital to help their rebuild and the cap space to sign their draft picks.

Julio Jones significantly helps the Tennessee Titans in their pursuit of a Super Bowl championship. It may take some creative salary cap moves to fit Julio’s contract, but those are hardly a challenge at all. The Titans have reloaded their wide receiver room after losing Corey Davis in free agency, but there is absolutely no chance they’re missing Davis now.
