Julio Jones Got Set Up By Shannon Sharpe Live on UNDISPUTED
TV presenter Shannon Sharpe, while live on his show, Undisputed, called Julio Jones and asked him about his future.
Sharpe called Jones and he answered the phone. Skip screamed “YEAH!”, and Jones apparently transferred to Bluetooth before resuming his conversation with Sharpe.
“It’s your favorite Uncle, whats going on? – Sharpe
“About to go meet up with my brother? – Jones
“You want to go to the Cowboys Julio? Or you want to stay in Atlanta? – Sharpe
“Nah I am out of there” – Jones
“Ideally where do you want to go? – Sharpe
“I want to win” – Jones
UNDISPUTED
Neither Sharpe nor Bayless mentioned to Jones that he was live on a nationally broadcasted sports show. That must break some sort of law or something right? Most likely, Jones does not answer those questions so directly or honestly if he knew he was on TV.
I am not a media or interview expert, but I have tried it once or twice on my podcast (shameless plug), and the ONE thing I always make very clear is when we are recording and when we are not. What Sharpe did was sleazy, and he may have screwed Jones over with the call.
There is an argument to be made that Jones should have known that he was live on TV after Bayless screamed in the background, but either way, the whole situation seems dirty.
