Fact Check: Update on Hangman Page Potentially Leaving AEW Amid CM Punk Fallout

Hangman Page was one of the targets of CM Punk’s outburst during the All Out media scrum. Following All Out, AEW held a media scrum for various wrestlers to address the media. The most notable was CM Punk’s as he took several shots at some AEW stars, who are also EVPs of the company, including a former AEW world champion in Page.

CM Punk is making headlines for his remarks during the All Out media scrum. Furthermore, his shots were directed at former AEW wrestler, Colt Cabana, and current stars and EVPs Page, Kenny Omega as well as Nick and Matt Jackson. As a result of this, there was an alleged confrontation between CM Punk, Ace Steel, Omega, and the Young Bucks. AEW reportedly suspended those involved in the locker room brawl.

Are Major Stars Leaving AEW?

There were reports that the Elite threatened to leave the company after Punk’s comments. At this time, AEW has not officially announced anything in regard to the situation. However, there has been a fake rumor going around. As a result of Punk’s comments, it was rumored that Page has left AEW. Furthermore, there has been a fake official statement made announcing this.

Hangman Page Statement

As reported by PWInsider, the statement above is fake. AEW sources have confirmed that Hangman Page is still a part of the company, according to PWInsider. Furthermore, any official statement will be made by Tony Khan or AEW. It is easy to replicate the official statements AEW puts out. As you can see from the statement above, it looks legit, but it is fabricated. While AEW has reportedly suspended those involved in the incident, they haven’t suspended Punk or Steel. As reported by Sports Illustrated, a decision will be made on whether to release or suspend Punk and Steel by the end of today.
