Evan Stewart Transfers To Oregon

Dan Lanning turned down Texas A&M and Alabama this offseason in hopes of building something special at Oregon. After already landing Dillon Gabriel via the transfer portal, Lanning continues to beef up the Ducks roster. Stud wide receiver Evan Stewart will take his talents to Autzen Stadium in Eugene Oregon to commit to the Ducks.

247 Sports was the first to report the news.

Evan Stewart is a baller. I think we need to get that out of the way first. Stewart, a former five star prospect, has three years of eligibility remaining. The 6-foot, 175-pound sophomore likely won’t be at Oregon for long. He’s an NFL prospect and likely will declare for the draft much sooner than that three year window.

This is basically your Troy Franklin replacement. You know, the guy who was mentioned in the stock report notes every time Oregon was on TV. It will be tough to replace what Franklin did last year. We’re talking 81 receptions for 1,383 yards, and 14 touchdowns. If someone can replicate it, it’s Stewart.

Last year Stewart notched 38 receptions for 514 yards and four touchdowns. However, it wasn’t exactly the best environment and the SEC is just a different animal. It felt like Stewart had one foot out the door all season. 2024 will be about replicating and proving he’s a horse that can produce similar numbers to Franklin.

The Oregon wide receiver room next year will consist of Tez Johnson, Traeshon Holden, Gary Bryant Jr., and Jurrion Dickey
