ESPN Plans To Eliminate The Boogermobile: Booger McFarland Moves To The Booth

RIP The Boogermobile – 2018. ESPN has made their own resolutions and cutting the Boogermobile from it’s sins is one small step in the right direction. The Monday Night Football set with Joe Tessitore, Jason Witten, and Booger McFarland has been a disaster. Witten can barely speak and Booger is stuck in a cart ruining views for the paying fans. ESPN now will move McFarland in the booth for what seems like the foreseeable future.

John Ourand of Sports Business Daily had the following:

“Booger McFarland will shed the sideline cart he used during “MNF” this season and be in the booth for ESPN’s broadcast of the Colts-Texans Wild Card game on Saturday, a move that will lead to speculation that McFarland will join Joe Tessitore and Jason Witten in the booth next season. ESPN moved McFarland to the booth for the final “MNF” regular-season game on Christmas Eve, citing weather conditions as a reason for making that move.

ESPN was said to be so pleased with how the three-man booth worked for that Broncos-Raiders game, it decided to stick with the three-man booth for its only NFL playoff telecast. For the record, ESPN says no decision has been made for the booth next season, but it appears likely that McFarland’s sideline cart will not be around.”

Classic ESPN response. Refusing to admit a mistake by claiming weather was the result of something that just works better. It’s only a matter of time before Witten gets the ax and that would fix MNF for the better. His quotes about pulling rabbits out of hats and throwing crazy politics into the broadcast is the real problem. BUT.. I’m sure ESPN didn’t want to risk being sued by the fans paying big bucks for tickets.

Can you imagine paying for tickets to a game and this stupid cart is blocking the view? Thank god the Boogermobile is gone. It’s a miracle that ESPN cleaned up a mistake.
