ESPN Fires David Pollack
Another one bites the dust. This layoff comes on the college football side of things. ESPN has fired David Pollack adding to the evergrowing list of on-air personalities that have been fired by the “Worldwide Leader”.
Front Office Sports was the first to report the news:
David Pollack has been laid off by ESPN, a source has confirmed to @MMcCarthyREV.

“David Pollack: Former NFL star turned panelist on “College GameDay” since 2011.”
Pollack, 41, was a rising star on ESPN College GameDay and seemed to fit in really well with the cast. Pollack, of course, was a star player at the University of Georgia that had his playing career cut short due to an unfortunate injury. A number of Pollack’s records still stand today at Georgia leading them all-time in sacks (36) and tackles for a loss (58.5). In 2004, Pollack won the Lombardi, Bednarik, and Hendricks Awards. He was always more accomplished than the casual fan would know.
Pollack is the only three-time All-American selection at Georgia beyond Herschel Walker. If Pollack had more of an illustrious NFL career, would ESPN still fire him? I guess we’ll never know for sure.
Seeing Pollack go is really surprising. Out of all of the college personalities ESPN could fire, I think this one may have been the last I would have gone with. Are they really going to bring back Lee Corso for a 100th year? They really felt that Desmond Howard was better? As of right now no other college people have been let go outside of LaPhonso Ellis, but he’s a college basketball writer.
