Any time you get traded to a 6-0 team, it has to feel like a boost. Especially when you’re playing for a 2-5 team. That’s exactly what happened to Emmanuel Sanders. After being traded to the 49ers from the Broncos, Sanders found himself on an undefeated team. Sanders couldn’t be more thrilled with how the process went.
“It feels good [to be here],” Sanders said Wednesday, via ESPN. “Obviously, I’ve got a lot of love for the Broncos. I spent six years there, won a Super Bowl there and I love that organization. But to be a 49er, it’s like a new energy and new environment. It reminds me of when I left the Steelers and went to the Broncos.
“I needed a change of scenery, and it feels good to have a change of scenery. And what a great locker room the 49ers have here. I’m just trying to come in and bring even more positive energy and bring another spark to this offense.”
Sanders becomes the number one option on a Super Bowl team. This a really nice upgrade. San Fran still has Marquise Goodwin as a deep threat. Deebo Samuel and Dante Pettis are young players with potential but just aren’t quite ready. Having a savvy vet like Sanders to teach the kids the ropes can’t hurt either.
What a lift this has to be. You go from playing with Joe Flacco that just doesn’t give two fucks to playing with Jimmy Garoppolo. The man is just handsome. You also get Kyle Shanahan too who is arguably the top offensive mind in the game. Emmanuel Sanders found his way on a team that should win the NFC West. If only somebody told you to take that bet. Shame.
