The Eagles get themselves involved in the Free agency frenzy. Signing former Jets DE Bryce Huff to a three-year contract worth $51.1 million. Adam Schefter was among the first to report on the news.
In an offseason in which the Eagles have lost quite a bit, Howie Roseman continues to bolster this pass rush.
The 25-year-old really broke onto the scene last year. Tallying a career-high ten sacks last season. More than he had in his previous three seasons combined. But last year, he really stepped into his own and established himself as a premier pass rusher.
Which will immediately put you on the radar of Howie Roseman. Who is always looking to make additions to both sides of the line. Take that and the fact that Fletcher Cox retired with the possible loss of either Josh Sweat or Hasson Reddick, a move on this side of the ball was needed.
Huff, though, should fit right into this Philadelphia defense. He is a high-motor guy who excels at getting to the QB. Something this defense missed greatly as we got towards the end of last season.
The loss of either a Sweat or Reddick will hurt, but it will be made a little easier to stomach now that you’re adding a guy like Bryce Huff. The Eagles are looking to make another run at that Lombardi Trophy, this move certainly is a step in that direction.
