Fantasy Football: Tony Pollard Signs With Titans
Derrick Henry is out. Tony Pollard is in. What does it all mean in terms of fantasy football? Let’s talk about it.
I’m not even going to bury the lede. I hate this fit and if you have Pollard in Dynasty, I would sell immediately. How does anybody like this fit other than the delusional inbred wackos in Tennessee? The answer is probably no one.
Cool, the Titans will probably run the ball a healthy amount. They also suck and probably won’t have favorable game scripts. Speaking of suck… have you seen that offensive line? Things can change between now and by the start of the season but that unit up front is brutal.
Pollard, 26, just went from one of the better offensive lines in the league with Dallas to maybe the single worst unit in the sport. Tennessee gave up 64 sacks last year with mobile quarterbacks. Just one sack shy of a tie for second worst in the NFL. Offensive lines matter and that’s not one that I’m willing to sign up for.
The former Memphis product isn’t exactly a big body either. In a workhorse role with the Cowboys, he wore down really bad a season ago. His YPC mark dropped from 5.2 to 4.0 with the increased volume. I think the plan here might be a clean split between Tyjae Spears and Pollard. Not exactly the best thing for a fantasy football owner.
Even with a big role in Dallas, Pollard only had six touchdowns and really struggled on the goal line. How does anyone have faith that’s going to change with a way worse line in front of him?
Hard pass. No, thank you. Pollard will likely be a member of the cheese list this year, which means do not draft him.
