Duke Lands Four-Star PF Sean Stewart

Duke has landed the commitment of four-star power forward Sean Stewart, per an announcement on Instagram Live with On3’s Joe Tipton.

Stewart, a consensus top-35 prospect in the Class of 2023, is coach-in-waiting Jon Scheyer’s second pledge of the class, joining Oak Hill’s Caleb Foster. The 6-foot-8 power forward chose the Blue Devils over Michigan, Georgetown, Stanford, Ohio State, Kansas, Harvard and Howard. Stewart chose Duke just a month after his official visit in Durham.

Stewart on why he chose Duke

The Windermere, Fla. native told Tipton that it was his childhood dream to play for Duke. That dream has now become reality, with Stewart set to make his long-awaited debut for the Blue Devils in just under two years.

“Yeah, it’s been a dream of mine since I saw a Duke game in third grade. It’s actually kind of crazy because I went to that game (in third grade) and then eight years later, on the same day, I was on my official visit which is insane. It was a deep-down feeling. I couldn’t go anywhere else knowing that I could’ve gone to Duke.”

“I just really felt a family vibe when I went down there and when we were at dinner at their house. I just really felt like I could play for Coach Scheyer and call him my coach for the next four years.”
