It is safe to say Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green and now Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole don’t like each other. Now, with the two NBA stars on different teams, Green keeps the beef cooking.
The rivalry between the two former teammates stems from an incident in practice last season. Poole repeatedly said something to put off Green. The two stars would engage face-to-face. Then push lead to shove. Next thing, Green came in with a right hook–flattening Poole and leaving him unconscious.
Poole’s dad would then sound off on Green after knocking his son unconscious, noting that Poole started the incident.

Now, only a few games into the new 2023-24 season, the Warriors and Wizards are on completely different spectrums. Golden State sits at 4-1 and tied for second in the Western Conference while the Wizards rank second-to-last in the East at 1-3.
With Poole on their roster, the Warriors finished the season 44-38, losing in the Western Conference semifinals.
It became obvious earlier last season that tension started to build in the Warriors organization. Their chemistry wasn’t its usual self, especially with Green and Poole at each other’s throats.
Green acknowledged the team’s morale and chemistry compared to last season in a recent press conference. In doing so, the veteran power forward took a shot at the recently traded Poole.
"Last year we had an awful team as far as chemistry goes… Last year was horsesh*t… Not fun. This year, you see the joy on guys' faces… You start to see that, and you're like, 'OK, this is a group that likes being together.'"

“Last year we had an awful team as far as chemistry goes,” Green said earlier this week. “Last year was horsesh*t… Not fun. This year, you see the joy on guys’ faces… You start to see that, and you’re like, ‘OK, this is a group that likes being together.’”
Poole and Green will be back in action together but on separate teams this winter. The Wizards will travel to Golden State on Dec. 22 for their first matchup against each other this season. This game will also be the homecoming matchup between Poole and Green. Get your popcorn ready because this game could end in some haymakers if Poole isn’t careful.
