Drake Maye Fantasy Football Profile: 2024 Re-Draft Leagues

Drake Maye was chosen 3rd overall by the New England Patriots in the 2024 NFL Draft. It’s fair to say that his dynasty fantasy football profile is probably looked on better than the re-draft one. There’s still some hope for Drake Maye fantasy value yet though. There could be some upside even for Drake Maye as a rookie on a less-than-talented team. It does depend on if Jacoby Brissett starts for the team. But, if he does, I think that’s a mistake because why do you choose a guy 3rd overall and then not play him? You don’t sit Drake Maye behind Jacoby Brissett, I’m sorry but you just don’t. Anyway, let’s dive deeper into Drake Maye Fantasy value.

This team is not good, no easier way to go about it. The good thing about that is, is if the Patriots want to stay in games, they’ll need to throw the ball because surely they will be behind. More passing attempts is more opportunities for points in fantasy. I’m not necessarily rooting for the Patriots downfall, wait, yes I am, I hate them. At the same time though, it only increases Drake Maye fantasy value with the Patriots being bad.

Drake Maye does have some weapons, some proven and some unproven. Rhamondre Stevenson, and Hunter Henry especially. I am not necessarily riding on Kendrick Bourne and JuJu Smith-Schuster a.k.a TikTok Boy, to increase Drake Maye’s fantasy value. I actually like Javon Baker and Ja’Lynn Polk, yes the Patriots newest rookie WRs, more than I like Bourne and JuJu. It doesn’t get much better after JuJu and Bourne either. There’s KJ Osborn and Jalen Reagor too. You see how none of those vets really tickle my fancy? There’s hope with Javon Baker and Ja’Lynn Polk though. Hopefully Drake Maye can grow with those guys as his career progresses on.

Would Robert Kraft Consider Selling The Patriots?

Drake Maye fantasy potential is interesting though. On one hand, choosing QBs with bad teams is not the worst strategy just because of the opportunities to gather points. However, we are talking about a rookie QB with possibly his two rookie WRs being his best options in the WR room. Rhamondre Stevenson will help, but it does look bleak for Maye. I think there’s a chance that he finishes in the top half of fantasy QBs. But, there’s not a shot in hell that he is a top 10 fantasy QB for you. He’s better suited for you as a QB3 on your roster (you know if you play in a real 2 QB league like a grown-up). Luckily, you might be able to get Drake Maye late in your draft as low-risk, mid-reward kind of guy. Don’t reach on Maye, but his Dynasty potential does have some upside.
