Drake London Regrets Idiotic Gun Touchdown Celebration

Drake London finally caught a touchdown for the first time since October 1st, 2023. It turned out to be a game winning score in what turned into a comeback win for the Falcons on Monday night against Philadelphia. Except… we have to talk about how London showed an incredible lack of self-awareness after scoring.

Does it get any dumber? London was called for a flag on the play which could have easily been the difference in losing the game. Let’s also mention the obvious fact that a school shooting just happened at Apalachee High School in Georgia.

“It’s a trend around football right now to do that type of celebration,” London said, according to Marc Raimondi of ESPN. “It was my first Monday Night Football game. I kind of lost myself in there. I wasn’t happy with the position I put my team in.”

“There’s a lot of stuff going around in the world with gun violence that I don’t think I should have displayed there,” London added. “So, I’m not too happy with it, and (you) probably won’t see that again from me.”

What trend? Who else is doing that celebration? I watch football every Saturday and Sunday and haven’t seen that move pulled off yet this year.

Also, the “Kind of lost myself” line. Yeah, I guess that’s pretty understandable when Jahan Dotson has four more career touchdown receptions than you do and Washington dumped him for a mid-round pick swap. What that says is he’s clearly feeling the heat and knows he hasn’t lived up to his lofty draft status.

Ike Hilliard Acknowledges Drake London Isn’t Good Enough

It’s bad enough that Drake London sucks. It’s worse that when he actually does something good, it’s followed up by something totally idiotic. How does anybody root for this guy?

Oh, and let’s not let Raheem Morris off the hook here. I know the local beat writers won’t hold the Falcons head coach accountable for this but he totally lied about what happened here. Morris claims London was “shooting T-shirts in the air“. Nobody with an IQ above 40 believes that, right?
