Dragon Lee is one of the biggest high-flying wrestlers on the rise currently. His in-ring abilities are top tier and there are very few who can do what he can in the ring. He is one of the best wrestlers under 30 in the world currently. Whatever promotion he wrestles in, he blows fans away with his in-ring abilities.
Recently, Dragon Lee and Dralistico defeated FTR to win the AAA World Tag Team Championships. But his reign wouldn’t last long as he went on to relinquish his title shortly after winning. After his match, Dragon Lee announced that he has signed a deal with WWE. The Lucha-Libre star is taking his talents to the United States to see how he matches up with the biggest stars in the world.
Shortly after his win, Dragon Lee cut an emotional promo telling the AAA fans that he signed with WWE.
Lee is a young star in the professional wrestling business. At just 27 years of age, he has won seven championships across five different promotions. He held the CMLL World Lightweight Championship twice for a combined total of 1,491 days.
Lee is a second-generation Lucha Libre wrestler, so wrestling is in his blood. He has blown fans away in every ring he has stepped in. His high-flying ability, mixed with his technical skills truly makes him one of a kind. Lee announced he was heading to WWE in January, but more specifically, he will start in NXT.
Some fans are questioning why someone this talented is going to WWE’s developmental system. But it’s likely just to familiarize Lee with how WWE does things.
WWE’s production is like none other. No other wrestling company puts on shows as big as WWE, so there is some learning to it. My guess would be that he won’t be spending much time in NXT before getting called up to the main roster. Plus, with William Regal reportedly going back to NXT, this could be the start of a new era for the brand.
Dragon Lee is a huge signing for WWE, and he can easily become the next big Luchador in WWE. So it’s safe to say that WWE has a future star in their hands.
