In 2016 Branch played in all 16 games recording 49 tackles and 5.5 sacks for the Dolphins this past season. Branch originally was a 2nd round pick of the Jaguars in 2012 but has been much better since joining the Dolphins this past year. The former Clemson product is a steady presence on the other side of Cameron Wake.
The Dolphins made a number of cap cuts to be in position for this move. Prior to the move, the Dolphins had $38 million in cap space according to Spotrac.com.
*The official contract details have been released on the new agreement. The contract is for 3 years for a total of $27 million.
