As all of you know the 2019 Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling World Championships start September 14 in Kazakhstan and I apparently am not the only one excited for the United States quest for their second world title in three years. US superstars Kyle Dake, J’den Cox, Jordan Burroughs, and Kyle Snyder are all back in their pursuit to add more gold medals to their resume. I cannot tell you how excited I am about this team people! Well apparently Huston Texans All-Pro wide receiver, DeAndre Hopkins, also is a huge wrestling fan as he could not control his excitement during Monday Night Football against the New Orleans Saints.

In the third quarter in a back and fourth game, Huston quarterback Deshaun Watson threw a deep ball to Hopkins that was intercepted by New Orleans Safety, Marcus Williams. Hopkins channeled his inner Kyle Snyder and completely LAUNCHED Williams for five! Hopkins was then called for unnecessary roughness which was complete bull. I thought we were playing football here ladies and gentleman. A sport built on blood, sweat, and tears. DeAndre Hopkins is a skinny dude, for him to have that kind of technique makes me think if this whole football thing doesn’t work out he might want to consider wrestling in the US Open next year. Tune in next week as I follow our boys in Kazakhstan as we try to bring home some hardware. Don Chach out!
