Davante Adams teases reunion with Aaron Rodgers
Las Vegas Raiders wideout Davante Adams has teased a potential reunion with Green Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. In a Wednesday Q&A on Twitter, Adams replied “mine” to a user who asked what neighborhood that Rodgers would move to.
The bidding for Aaron Rodgers has begun this offseason, and will likely includes the New York Jets, who recently hired one of his former coaches, Nathaniel Hackett.
Hackett was hired as the offensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers in 2019. Rodgers would later win back-to-back MVP awards with Hackett. The Jets likely tried to entice Rodgers into going to New York instead of retiring or staying in Green Bay by hiring Hackett.
Rodgers is still weighing his options on whether to retire, stay in Green Bay, or get traded somewhere else. The veteran quarterback still hasn’t made a decision and will have to think it through.
“It’s going to be a little more time for my decision,” Rodgers said Tuesday during his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, via theScore. “I feel confident that in a couple of weeks, I’ll feel definitely more strongly about one of the two decisions.”
The pieces of the puzzle are coming together for a reunion in Las Vegas, as the Raiders have essentially kicked quarterback Derek Carr to the curb. He said his heartfelt goodbyes to Raider nation in a recent Instagram post. Carr has essentially played his last game in a Raiders uniform.
With Carr out, Adams doesn’t have a sufficient quarterback for the future. The Raiders have around $19 million in cap space, even with Carr under contract.
