AEW Comments on Age Rating Being the Cause of Delay for Fight Forever — Reports

AEW has gained a lot of anticipation for its first video game, AEW: Fight Forever. As soon as the game was announced fans were excited to play.

Wrestling video games are somewhat of a rare breed. Outside of WWE, there haven’t been many games that have been released in recent years — and even WWE has had issues with its video games in the past.

AEW has become WWE’s biggest competition in the United States, so the fact that wrestling fans will have an opportunity to play a wrestling video game that isn’t a WWE game is extremely exciting. Plus, with Kenny Omega leading the charge, fans know they’re in good hands.

However, AEW: Fight Forever doesn’t have an official release date, even though you can pre-order the game now. Also, there were reports that the age rating was the reason for the game’s delay. But an AEW representative reportedly denied that was the case.

What’s The Delay?

AEW: Fight Forever has been announced for some time now, but like many other games, it has been delayed. Although the cause of the delay hasn’t been specified, many reports thought it was because AEW couldn’t get the age rating they wanted.

However, Max Everett of Sportskeeda reported that AEW has reportedly denied that was the reason for the delay. Sportskeeda also reportedly talked to THC Nordiq, the publisher of the game, and they denied that was the reason for the delay. Furthermore, another source, one who is involved with licensing in AEW and its gaming division, reportedly also denied that was the case saying, “rumors are rumors.”

There is a lot of anticipation surrounding AEW: Fight Forever, and rightfully so. We haven’t gotten a non-WWE wrestling game in a while. And with Omega leading the charge, someone who is extremely passionate about professional wrestling and video games, the fans know they are in good hands. THC Nordiq has made some of the best legendary video games in the past, so the bar is set high for AEW: Fight Forever.
