Dan Shaughnessy Blasts ‘Cowardly’ Bill Simmons For Creating Generation Of Lazy Reporters

I have a confession to make. I used to really like Bill Simmons. Now I can’t stand him. My issues with him have started to really pile up. Simmons is a fake Red Sox fan that knows close to nothing but runs his mouth like he’s a qualified GM. He was way wrong about the catching situation and has failed to apologize for being flat out wrong.

The next thing is something that has been bothering me all year. Free agency talk in the NBA has gone way too far. It’s unbearable at this point. I’ve heard about Kyrie Irving’s free agency for 250 days in a row. I can’t take it anymore. The NBA fans could care less about the games. They just want to know where the next dominoes will fall. No other sport does this and it’s making me hate the NBA.

It’s one thing to talk about free agency. It’s another thing to get a report every single day that probably isn’t true. It’s a never ending flow of rumors about free agency every single day. Well, today a prominent, respect journalist – Dan Shaughnessy blasted Bill Simmons. He even called him a coward. This is a must listen.

I love everything about this. This isn’t about Kyrie Irving’s free agency. This is about the bullshit that is going on in the NBA. What the hell does Stephen A Smith know? Stephen A has a better chance running a 4.40 in the 40 yard dash than he does naming the 7th man off the bench for the Grizzlies. Stephen A Smith is clueless. There is a zero percent chance he spoke to Kyrie directly. He just made this up to have something to talk about for the 250th day in a row. Plus, Stephen A works 800 hours a week. There’s no chance he actually did his due diligence. Maybe he’s right and the Nets are in the “lead”. The thing is it doesn’t matter. We are still a month away before anyone can sign so what’s the point in continuing to talk about it?

This is all Bill Simmons does. He just sits at home and throws out theories and hopes some of them gain traction to garner attention. It’s all trash. I love this from Dan. Now, Shaughnessy is a crusty old journalist but he’s not wrong. I love the attack. I’m all for it. Awesome is the only word to describe this clip. Unfortunately, this is now the culture in the NBA and I don’t think it’s going away. It’s time to start trying to get more into Hockey. It’s the only solution. Let’s be honest about another thing, you can’t be a die-hard Boston fan that lives in Boston and then move to Los Angeles for the weather.
