What if I told you Dalton Kincaid is about to become the best tight end in fantasy football? Is there a pathway for it to happen? (Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports)

Dalton Kincaid: Realistic Path To TE1 In Fantasy Football?

You may recall that I wasn’t overly high on Dalton Kincaid coming out of college. Not that I hated the player, it just takes a lot for me to pull the trigger on a tight end in the first round of a draft. Especially a tight end that started his collegiate career at the University of San Diego. I couldn’t get on board with ever taking that type of guy in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Kincaid, 24, finished his rookie year with 73 receptions, 673 yards, and two touchdowns. Throw the stats out the window for a second. Kincaid had his moments but it wasn’t exactly a stat line that blows you away. What really matters from what we saw last year is that towards the end of the year, the Bills realized they were at their best as a 12-team. Having Kincaid and Dawson Knox on the field at the same time gives Buffalo its best chance to win.

It’s why nobody should be surprised they moved on from Stefon Diggs. This offense is going to run through the tight ends. It’s going to be James Cook, Josh Allen runs, and a lot of looks to Kincaid. If the Utah product had 91 targets as a rookie, what do you think he’s going to get next year?

Take advantage. Be forward-thinking. We’re seeing how this is playing out. This pick is going to work out for Buffalo mostly because I didn’t necessarily see him completing their team. Buffalo will miss Diggs far less than you think and Keon Coleman will eventually be far better than you think. We know how this is going to play out. You already see it. I know you do. Close your eyes and see it. I promise it’s there.

The quarterback always makes the receiver. There’s nobody I’d rather have throwing my guy the football in fantasy over Josh Allen and with Joe Brady coming back, we know this offense is going to score a lot of points. You’re going to want Kincaid in fantasy heading into the 2024-25 NFL Season. I don’t care what your rules are. Get your hands on this guy. Especially in long term keeper / dynasty leagues. Maybe it all comes together the following year but we know it’s coming. There are too many breadcrumbs here to ignore.

How I would rank the fantasy tight ends for next year. This is subject to change.

1: Kincaid

2: Pitts

3: LaPorta

4: Kelce

5: Andrews

6: Ferguson

7: McBride

8: Freiermuth

9: Njoku

10: Engram
