Migos has been on a hiatus for a few years, with each member of the trio releasing individual albums after the release of Culture 2. Now, with the announcement of Culture 3, along with the tracklist, what should their audience expect from this project?
I expect many of the people credited on Culture 1 and 2 to appear on Culture 3, including the likes of Murda Beatz, Zaytoven, and Buddah Bless. Wheezy is a producer who has proven his skills in the past couple of years and I hope his rise gets him an appearance on Culture 3. Turbo and Jetsonmade are also producers that I would like to see collaborate with the Migos, as they have worked with similar artists like Lil Baby, Jack Harlow, and Gunna. Finally, I would like to see Metro Boomin on the album because he can encapsulate the overall feel of albums with his work. This can be seen with his collaborations with 21 savage on Savage mode I and II, but also on his own project Not All Heroes Wear Capes.
According to the tracklist, this album will feature Cardi B, Drake, Polo G, Juice Wrld, Justin Bieber, Pop Smoke, and NBA Youngboy, all of whom will add a unique flavor to the album because of their diverse backgrounds. I expect Cardi B’s verse to be similar to her verse in “Motorsport”, which also featured Nicki Minaj. Drake has mastered his skills as an artist and could bring many different flows and melodies to the table, making him the most versatile artist on the feature list. Juice Wrld brings up many topics relating to drugs and drug use – expect melodic flows or a trap-like instrumental on the Migos – Juice collab, similar to the Migos’ collaboration with Lil Uzi on “Bad and Boujee”. I expect Polo G, Pop Smoke, and NBA Youngboy to discuss the hardships of the streets of Chicago, New York, and Louisiana, respectively. Polo G’s style is centered on melodic or heavy-hitting flows over a piano, the late Pop Smoke utilized New York drill instrumentals, while NBA Youngboy raps over sparkly trap instrumentals. Justin Bieber is an interesting choice as a feature, as his sound is outside the Migos’ comfort zone. I would also like features from Lil Baby, Lil Uzi, 21 Savage, and Future, but the currently listed featured artists are nevertheless perfect for this album.
This project should have multiple billboard hits. The Migos have chosen great artists to be featured on this album, and although the styles of the featured artists represent a significant change in comparison to the Migos’ earlier work, there is no doubt that the album will perform well.
