Cris Collinsworth must be smoking crack while in the booth. In the Sunday Night Football matchup between the Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs, Collinsworth compared Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky was just as good as Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. What?
Collinsworth’s spill continued as NBC showed “similar” highlights of the two quarterbacks. The throws by Trubisky were nothing special, just a few throws on the run. But how can someone in their right mind say that just because Trubisky threw the ball on the run a few times that he is able to do what Mahomes does? Seriously? It is absolutely nuts.
Here are a few videos from tonight’s game just to show. Now tell me, which quarterback would you rather have?
Trubisky is laughably bad. Anyone with a brain during would have known that when the 2017 NFL draft came around. Head to head it’s not even close. Mahomes: 3,606 yards, 24 TDs, 4 INTs and 106.2 QBR. Trubisky: 2,774 yards, 17 TDs, 14 INTs and 84.2 QBR (stats are before SNF game).
Mahomes is the reigning MVP, has continued to play up to that level despite missing some time due to injury and has helped put the Chiefs in a good spot for a playoff run. The Bears will again miss the playoffs and will, most likely, stick with Trubisky as their quarterback. I feel sorry for Bears fans out there. No fan base deserves what is happening to them right now. Analytics and the eye test show that Mahomes is leagues ahead of Trubisky. Why does Cris Collinsworth defend Trubisky in such a way? The only logical explanation is idiocy and a lot crack. Thank God Collinsworth is not in Madden anymore, because I may have had to boycott the game because of his stupidity. Please, NBC, for everyone’s sake, find someone else.
