Colin Cowherd Teams Up with The Action Network
Colin Cowherd’s podcast network ‘The Volume’ joins ‘The Action Network’, a sports gambling subscription media company. This comes after Cowherd started ‘The Volume’ amidst the pandemic.
According to axios.com the media companies came to an agreement bringing the old, boring Cowherd to a new audience of loyal sports gambling fans.
“As part of the deal, The Action Network’s flagship podcast, “The Favorites,” will relaunch as part of The Volume
– Chad Milman, the Chief Content Officer for Action Network, will continue to serve as host for the podcast. Millman will also appear weekly on The Collin Cowherd Podcast, whic airs three-times-a-week, to discuss sports betting
– As part of the deal, The Volume will be able to use the Action Network app and editorial teams’ expertise to inform gambling conversations. Talent from the Action Network will contribute regularly to The Volume podcasts”

The deal seems better for The Action Network than it does for Cowherd. Like him or not Cowherd has a huge following, either to listen to his takes or to make fun of his ridiculous thoughts. Milman will go on some of The Volume’s shows and grow the Action Network’s brand past just their tracking app.
This news comes after Pat McAfee announced that he is no longer working with any ESPN personalities. The “worldwide leader in sports” is scared of McAfee’s growth, but Cowherd’s style is joining forces with an up and coming media company.
It is a good avenue for Cowherd to go down, sports gambling is becoming less and less taboo and more mainstream. If he can provide half decent gambling content, it is good for the media industry.
Sports gambling isn’t even legal in half of the country yet, so as more and more states turn the corner into the modern way of life, the audience will grow along with the states.
