Sports Media
We are entering what many consider to be the best time of the year. The temperature is dropping outside, Thanksgiving is right around the corner and Christmas is just over away. Many people love this time of year, especially the concept of spending the holidays with your friends and family.
Sports media personality Chris Russo is not one of those people.
Today on First Take, Russo went scorched earth on the idea of Thanksgiving, telling the rest of the cast that he hates spending time with his family, hates commuting in New York with all the traffic and would rather spend the day with his dogs watching football.
Here’s the full rant below.
On the one hand, I can understand where he is coming from. I have been to New York a few times and the traffic is a nightmare.
The family *can* get overwhelming at times. I don’t have a 90-year-old mother to worry about, but I’m sure that’s stressful. But come on, what a bad take here. Family driving you nuts? You down a few Jack and Cokes. Worried about traffic? Stephen A. mentioned having Thanksgiving at his place to avoid it, boom. Worried about your mom? Sit her down in the recliner and put on the shows she watches. Simple solutions here. Chris Russo hates Thanksgiving with a passion and his rant on the matter was a classic.
Thanksgiving is the second-best holiday, behind Christmas of course, and the disrespect shown by Chris Russo will not stand.
Sure, eight out of 10 households will have a dry-ass turkey, maybe a ham mixed in there (if you swing that way) and some bland sides, but it’s the idea of spending the day with those you love and giving your thanks.
If Russo had his way, I’m sure the holiday would be spartan kicked off the holiday rotation altogether.
