Atlanta Falcons and Chris Lindstrom agree to five-year $105 million extension

One of the best guards in the game is staying put in Atlanta. Chris Lindstrom and the Atlanta Falcons have agreed upon a massive deal of a five-year $105 million extension, according to Jeremy Fowler.

The Atlanta Falcons have been making moves this offseason so far. Just earlier the Falcons traded for Patriots TE Jonnu Smith for a seventh-round pick. Just now, they extend one of the best guards in the game in Chris Lindstrom. No full contract details on guaranteed money have yet to be announced at this moment.

Lindstrom has had a strong campaign as a Falcon ever since they drafted him. The Falcons took Lindstrom with the 14th overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft. Boy, has he been stellar too. This was a huge hit for the Falcons in terms of a pick.

Lindstrom finished this last season with the Falcons as his best one yet. He started all 17 games, and lead an offensive line that blocked for the third-best rushing unit in the NFL. The Falcons averaged 159.9 yards per game from the ground, and that was due to Lindstrom. The NFL named him to his first pro-bowl, PFWA All-NFC team, PFFs All-Pro team, and AP All-Pro Second-team. Safe to say, the Falcons got a great deal with Lindstrom. Locking him up as part of their rebuild is something to cheer for.

Besides the All-Pro teams, the Falcons named Lindstrom as their Walter Payton Man of the Year candidate. One of the most prestigious honors in football. This award goes to a player with commitment to outside of football in their community.
