It’s not just Dallas Turner (link to his profile here) heading into the NFL Draft. The Crimson Tide are sending two pass rushers to the NFL including teammate Chris Braswell. All of the details you need to know about Chris Braswell, let’s talk about them with his 2024 NFL Draft Profile!
I kinda thought Braswell got exposed during the Senior Bowl. Feels like a one trick pony. If he doesn’t win with power, he doesn’t win at all. I was really underwhelmed with his performance there. Read more on that here!
Braswell wasn’t featured much in the stock report notes. His best game was probably against Tennessee. However, down the stretch he was totally quiet. Didn’t do anything in the games against Georgia or Michigan. On the whole, 2023 was Braswell’s best year stepping into a starting role after Will Anderson left for the NFL. Even then, he only had two starts playing mostly as a rotational guy. Still, Braswell deserves credit for making the most of his opportunities. He finished the year with 10.5 TFLs, 8 sacks, a pick six, and three forced fumbles.
Braswell is also a capable athlete. Maybe he’s only scratching the surface for what he’ll become. The Baltimore, Maryland native checks in at 6-foot-3, 251, and over 33 inch arms. At the Combine, Braswell faired okay. Have no idea why he was with the linebacker group, which is an error on the league’s part. The Crimson Tide pass rusher ran a 4.60 but didn’t do anything else of real note.
The sample size just really isn’t here to pound the table for the guy. He only has roughly 1,200 snaps in his entire college career. I’m not sure he’s anything more than a rotational piece who can attack the quarterback with a plus mean streak.
I’m not overly high on Chris Braswell. Feels limited and even if he makes it, it seems like it peaks as a rotational piece. I’d take Braswell somewhere in the 6th or 7th round to serve as a depth piece to the edge rusher room to hopefully develop into someone that can attack the quarterback down the line.
