Chick-Fil-A workers are trained to say “my pleasure” after nearly every sentence when speaking to customers. They’re always reasonable and polite during orders and always provided ample Chick-Fil-A sauces, but the company revealed it has encountered sauce shortages due to disruptions in its supply chains.

The company emailed an apologetic message to its customers today detailing new limits on the number of sauce packets each customer was allowed to receive. The limits are based on the size and content of orders: one sauce packet per entree, two sauces per meal, and three sauces per 30-count nuggets. The message sent out by the company read:

Bombshell. If my entire pandemic had a silver lining, it would be the fact that Chick-Fil-A remained open. Even though most of their locations have not reopened indoor dining, they still make delicious food and fantastic Chick-Fil-A sauce. With the shortage, however, everyone will have to revert to using their traditional condiment of choice, whether it be ketchup, mustard, ranch, or whatever else, to cover their chicken. Not ideal.

What Do We Do Now?

If you want to get your hands on any remaining Chick-Fil-A sauce, your first stop is Walmart. Walmart stocks bottles of Chick-Fil-A sauce regularly and if you get there fast enough, they may still have some of the coveted Polynesian sauce in stock as well.

If that option fails and Walmart can’t satisfy your craving for Chick-Fil-A sauce, you may find yourself falling into a pit of despair until the shortage ends. Many throughout the United States are up in arms over the current gas crisis, but the Chick-Fil-A sauce shortage could prove even more problematic. There are almost certainly homemade Chick-Fil-A sauce recipes online that could suffice, but they cannot possibly replicate the sweet, golden goodness of the real stuff.

I may be overreacting here, but one sauce per entree simply is not enough. If you go to Chick-Fil-A during this crisis, be sure to get sauce with every order. You may just end up rich if it becomes even more scarce.
