Chaim Bloom Set To Become Cardinals Front Office Leader

Chaim Bloom joined the Cardinals in a smaller role earlier this year. It sure appears like he’s made quite the impression in St. Louis. So much so that Bloom is going to become the leader of the front office in St. Louis after the 2025 Season. After next season, John Mozeliak is out and Bloom is in charge.

Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch was the first to report the news:

Goold also noted a lot of things. I’m just going to list them off like they’re spark notes. You’re here for the information. I don’t need to make this about me and I’m happy to serve you the viewer. Although, I wouldn’t hate a share and or a like along the way.

• Bloom will primarily be tasked with overhauling the minor league system in 2025. He will then take over as the lead after that season.
• The Cardinals are giving Bloom a five year contract.
• Oliver Marmol will be the manager in 2025. TBD after that.
• Mozeliak indicated the payroll is coming way down during his lame duck season.
• Sonny Gray, Nolan Arenado, and Willson Contreras are all available.
• Paul Goldschmidt will not be given an offer in free agency.

Chaim Bloom Continues To Prove He’s Not A Big Market General Manager

One thing you have to give Bloom credit for is that the guy knows how to build a farm system. The Red Sox farm system is absolutely loaded with a ton of young players on the way. If Bloom can do the same for St. Louis, Cards fans will be happy. They just will also be mad when he hoards all of them and doesn’t have the balls to make the necessary moves to actually get them back to the World Series.
