Carson Wentz Has Found A New Passion For Football With The Colts

Carson Wentz looked like a shell of himself in 2020, consistently missing easy throws and making uncharacteristic turnovers. After getting benched for Jalen Hurts and appearing to quit on the Eagles, it was evident there was something wrong with Wentz.

Wentz was traded to the Colts in the offseason, reuniting with head coach Frank Reich. Reich served as the offensive coordinator under Doug Pederson in Philadelphia, and Wentz had his best season as pro under Reich, during which he played like an MVP candidate. Unfortunately for Wentz, he suffered an injury and backup QB Nick Foles stepped up to lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl victory over the Patriots.

Wentz’s happiness is evident following his departure from Philly, and he had this to say about his journey and passion for the game:

“I really feel like I have a new passion for the game.” “I’ve been high, I’ve been injured, I’ve been, now, benched, I’ve been traded, I’ve kinda seen a lot in five years, so whatever the game throws at me I’m ready.”

I’m hoping Wentz can resurrect his career with the Colts. In Philadelphia, he suffered from an irrational fear of backup quarterbacks. Wentz had a terrific regular season in his best year with the team, but Nick Foles and the defense won them their title. The Eagles then immediately drafted Jalen Hurts in the second round. The Eagles did a shitty job supporting Wentz and his confidence looked shattered by the time his tenure in Philadelphia came to an end. Wentz is under a lot of pressure to produce in Indy, but by all accounts, he is thrilled for the opportunity to kick some ass in 2021.
