Carson Beck Enters The Transfer Portal
It was widely reported that Carson Beck was set to enter the 2025 NFL Draft. Now he’s done his best Cam Ward impression and will enter the transfer portal instead.
Pete Nakos over at On3 was the first to report the news:
Beck, a former four-star recruit during the 2020 cycle, missed the college football playoff because of a torn UCL in his elbow. Even before the injury, it was a down year for Beck. He finished the 2024 season with 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions along with 3,485 yards. If you read my stock report notes this year, you know Beck didn’t exactly take strides forward this year.
In fairness to Beck, Georgia led FBS in drops (31) and it was clear that losing Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey put serious limitations on the offense. Georgia never properly replaced those guys and never had a reliable run game all year. It’s no accident that Georgia put up 10 total points against Notre Dame in the playoff without him.
Coming into the year, Beck was my QB1 for the 2025 NFL Draft. Now he will look to rebuild that draft stock with wherever he goes next. If anything is clear, it’s safe to assume that Beck will be HIGHLY compensated wherever he decides to go next out of the portal.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound quarterback will have one more season of eligibility remaining. Things could change but it looks like it’s Gunner Stockton’s job at Georgia next year.
