Capcom Reverses Decision To Force Resident Evil PC Upgrades On Players

Resident Evil is an extremely popular horror franchise with a huge fan base. Resident Evil has found success on many different gaming platforms, such as old generation consoles, new generation consoles, and PC. PC players were recently shocked when Capcom forced all PC players to get the upgraded version of Resident Evil 3. Furthermore, sometimes upgraded games and changes don’t make the games better, and it can create a less enjoyable experience for gamers.

This is what happened when Capcom forced PC players to automatically upgrade their Resident Evil 3 game. However, the PC Resident Evil fans came together to voice their opinions and protest the new upgrade, and this led Capcom to fix their decision. Capcom responded to the fans by saying,

“Due to overwhelming community response, we’ve reactivated the previous version that does not include ray tracing and enhanced 3D audio. Both enhanced and previous versions will be made available going forward.”

This is important in the gaming community because fans love it when their voices are heard by companies. Capcom and the Resident Evil team realized that they did not make the most favorable decision, but, instead of being stubborn, they graciously made both versions available. Also, it makes sense to have both versions available and let the fan base decide which version they want to play.

Decisions like the one to overturn their automatic update as well as continually being able to create fun games are how companies can build trust with their fan base.

More Background on Resident Evil 3

Resident Evil 3 was released in 2020, but it was a remake of the popular 1999 game Resident Evil: Nemesis. It was a successful remake, with the game being beloved by fans of the franchise. The game was nominated for numerous gaming awards.

It is a single-player survival horror game with elements of shooting, action, and adventure that add to the overall terrifying experience of the game. Gamers have to try to find a vaccine as they navigate through a dilapidated city that is crumbling due to a viral outbreak.

Fans and new players can enjoy Resident Evil 3 on PC, and they can decide which version of the game they like the most to maximize their gaming experience.
