Can Someone Explain To Me Why Craig Breslow Hasn’t Called Triston Casas’ Agent Yet?

We were lied to and there is no other way to interpret it. “Full throttle” turned into a big fat lie. The only real money the Red Sox have spent this offseason was by signing Lucas Giolito. A type of deal that’s viewed as a hopeful rebound contract. Ownership should certainly be blamed but it’s pretty obvious that Craig Breslow doesn’t have the balls to be an A+ GM.

The more time goes on I’m about 75% convinced that Dave Dombrowski continues to win because he’s a crafty old guy that actually works hard. This new crop of GMs is full of nerds that have no balls. It is what it is. Breslow fits that category. A smart guy but deep down doesn’t have the IT factor.

We’ve heard it all offseason. Breslow hasn’t been able to convince John Henry to spend his money. The Red Sox have another Chaim Bloom on their hands. Just maybe an upgraded version of that.

This next topic that I’m about to talk about makes me sick.

According to @ChrisCotillo, there hasn’t been any extension talks with Triston Casas so far this offseason.

So let me get this straight. It’s almost February and Breslow still hasn’t called the agent of Triston Casas to try to get a contract extension done…

I’m sorry but Breslow should be immediately punched in the face for this. Why are the Braves so successful? Alex Anthopoulos has gotten all his young stars extended. The fact that Breslow hasn’t even attempted to do so with Casas is disgusting.

The Red Sox have once again hired the wrong guy. If he can’t understand that item number one needs to be signing the young stars so we don’t have another Mookie situation unfold, then we don’t have a starting point.

Maybe Breslow will ultimately become successful, but this is a terrible sign. I can guarantee if I had the job Casas’ agent would have at least gotten a phone call by now. The fact that didn’t happen probably explains a lot of the failures this offseason.
