Can Daniel Jones win a Super Bowl as the Giants QB?

Daniel Jones is young, talented, and has some good qualities. However, with the good, there is bad.

Daniel Jones and the Fumbles

The fumbles and turnovers for Jones are just unacceptable. Yes, it’s only year two, and he didn’t even play the full season last year. I get all of that but, they have to stop. There comes the point when you have to figure out if he actually can prevent those mistakes.

Daniel Jones and Eli Manning have Plenty of Similarities

Sometimes Jones looks so damn good, and other times he seems like a moron. It’s funny because I remember another quarterback for Big Blue that was just like that. Yes, Eli Manning. Eli and Jones have a lot of similarities, so many that it’s scary. Now, if using that logic, yes, Jones can win a Super Bowl. Hell, Eli won two, and he was never the best in the league.

There is a problem, though; Eli was a playoff made QB right from jump street. Jones so far can’t even put together a decent year in the regular season, let alone winning a division crown or making the playoffs. Jones has a horrible team; there are no offensive weapons that you can say are good on this team, outside of Saquon Barkley. There’s no Plaxico Burress or Hakeem Nicks on this offense.

Jones Needs a Great Team Around him to Win

I think Jones can win a Super Bowl, and that’s with the Giants. IF, and that’s a big if, Jones has a good team around him. That includes a good offensive line like Eli had, a good receiving core, and a good run game. Now, most of these problems can be solved if Jones has a good line. It’s something every QB in the NFL needs to be successful. But, especially someone with Jones’ inexperience and ball security issues.

The Giants also need a kick-ass defense like they had in 2007 and 2011; a stellar pass rush, decent linebackers, and secondary, combined with a ground and pound offense that could air it out if need be. That’s the Giants winning formula, and that formula can still win in this league.

I will be the first to say this Jones made me look so bad in my debut post here with Vendetta Sports. I thought Jones would have a great year, but it didn’t take long for us to realize that wasn’t happening.

The game has changed that I know. However, the defense can still win you championships. The only difference is the offense has to put up points. Jones can do that if he has the right pieces around him. Give Jones another year and give him some dependable help; there will be significant improvements to his game. I won’t give up on him just yet.
