Calvin Ridley is a ‘mismatch nightmare’ according to teammate
When the Jacksonville Jaguars traded for former Falcons stud receiver Calvin Ridley, many believed he would reach his full potential with Trevor Lawrence as his Quarterback. However, gambling on NFL games would cost Ridley his first full year with the Jags. Now reinstated and ready to go, he is already impressing many of his teammates. When talking with the media, fellow receiver Jamal Agnew would sing his praises.
“Just the way he moves, you can see,” Agnew said, per talkSPORT. “His route running, he can run, catch anything you throw to him, he’s just different, man.
“You just watch him out there, he’s a mismatch nightmare. In my opinion, I don’t think anybody can guard him in the league.”

Calvin Ridley has been a star on the field since entering the league back in 2018 after being drafted No. 26 overall by the Atlanta Falcons. In 2020, he would post a career-high in receiving yards with 1374 to go along with 90 receptions and nine touchdowns. He was part of an Alabama receiving core that had names like DeVonta Smith, Jerry Jeudy, and Henry Ruggs III.
Calvin Ridley will be paired up this year with an emerging star in Christian Kirk. Kirk had a stellar year in 2022, with 84 catches, 1,108 yards and eight touchdowns, all career highs. Kirk and Ridley will look to join the 2015 Jaguars receivers, Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns, to both have 1,000-yard seasons. If Ridley finds his form from his incredible Atlanta days, Jacksonville could become one of the most dangerous offenses in the league.
